ALEXANDRIA, Va., Feb. 19 -- United States Patent no. 12,227,447, issued on Feb. 18, was assigned to NIPRO Corp. (Osaka, Japan).
"Coating film-attached glass, production method therefor, and modified glass substrate" was invented by Masamichi Wada (Osaka, Japan) and Atsushi Ishikawa (Osaka, Japan).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A coating film-attached glass comprising a glass substrate, and a coating film provided on at least a part of a surface of the glass substrate, in which a region from the surface of the glass substrate on the coating film side to a predetermined depth is a modified layer, and the modified layer has a microcrystalline structure at least in part."
