ALEXANDRIA, Va., Nov. 18 -- United States Patent no. 12,473,388, issued on Nov. 18, was assigned to Nippon Shokubai Co. Ltd. (Osaka, Japan).

"Acrylic polymer" was invented by Ryuji Onishi (Osaka, Japan), Teruhiro Kawano (Osaka, Japan) and Shingo Tokuhara (Osaka, Japan).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A novel acrylic polymer is provided. The novel acrylic polymer is an acrylic polymer which has a lactone ring structure in the main chain and has a melt flow rate of 2 g/10 minutes or more as measured at 230deg C. under a load of 3.8 kg according to JIS K 7210."

The patent was filed on Nov. 6, 2019, under Application No. 17/291,685.
