ALEXANDRIA, Va., Oct. 8 -- United States Patent no. 12,438,183, issued on Oct. 7, was assigned to NIPPON ELECTRIC GLASS Co. LTD. (Shiga, Japan).

"Solid electrolyte sheet, method for manufacturing same, and sodium ion all-solid-state secondary cell" was invented by Junichi Ikejiri (Otsu, Japan), Hideo Yamauchi (Otsu, Japan) and Fumio Sato (Otsu, Japan).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Provided is a thin beta-alumina-based solid electrolyte sheet having a high ion conduction value. The solid electrolyte sheet containing Beta-alumina and/or Beta"-alumina and having a thickness of 1 mm or less and a voidage of 20% or less."

The patent was filed on Feb. 21, 2020, under Application No. 16/797,118.
