ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 30 -- United States Patent no. 12,371,366, issued on July 29, was assigned to NIPPON ELECTRIC GLASS Co. LTD. (Shiga, Japan).
"Glass material" was invented by Tomoko Enomoto (Otsu, Japan) and Naoki Fujita (Otsu, Japan).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A glass material less likely to cause inconveniences, such as crystallization and the generation of devitrified matters, while holding desired optical properties, has a refractive index of 1.8 or more and a content of Al2O3 of over 0 to 500 mass ppm."
The patent was filed on May 11, 2021, under Application No. 17/920,855.
