ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 12 -- United States Patent no. 12,297,446, issued on May 13, was assigned to NIKEGEN Ltd. (Sai Ying Pun, Hong Kong).

"Recombinant parvoviral vectors and method of making and use thereof" was invented by Weidong Xiao (Dresher, Pa.) and Xiangping Yu (Fujian, China).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A parvovirus vectors with a viral genome having a covalently closed end (ccePV vectors), methods for producing such vectors and DNA constructs used for producing such vectors."

The patent was filed on Nov. 1, 2019, under Application No. 17/309,154.
