ALEXANDRIA, Va., Oct. 28 -- United States Patent no. 12,446,659, issued on Oct. 21, was assigned to NIKE Inc. (Beaverton, Ore.).

"Electrorheological fluid structure with attached conductor and method of fabrication" was invented by Steven H. Walker (Camas, Wash.) and Chin-Yuan Cheng (Kirkland, Wash.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A system for a footwear sole component to control an incline in between a footbed and an outsole. An incline adjuster is positioned between the footbed and the outsole.
