ALEXANDRIA, Va., Aug. 12 -- United States Patent no. 12,383,022, issued on Aug. 12, was assigned to NIKE Inc. (Beaverton, Ore.).

"Article of footwear having a skin layer between a knitted component and a sole structure" was invented by Torrey J. Bell (Portland, Ore.) and Lauren Tyndall (Portland, Ore.).
