ALEXANDRIA, Va., March 26 -- United States Patent no. 12,258,975, issued on March 25, was assigned to NIDEC Corp. (Kyoto, Japan).

"Impeller and centrifugal fan" was invented by Shinji Takemoto (Kyoto, Japan) and Satoshi Kajikawa (Kyoto, Japan).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "An impeller for a centrifugal fan rotatable about a central axis extending in an axial direction includes a hub portion expanding radially outward about the central axis, and wings on a radially outer side of the hub portion. A cross-sectional shape of the wing in a circumferential direction is a wing shape."

The patent was filed on Feb. 26, 2021, under Application No. 17/914,422.
