ALEXANDRIA, Va., Aug. 20 -- United States Patent no. 12,394,793, issued on Aug. 19, was assigned to NEXEON Ltd. (London).
"Surface modification" was invented by Jonathon David Speed (Reading, Great Britain), Scott Brown (Cambridge, Great Britain) and Simon Foxon (Abingdon, Great Britain).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "An electrochemically active material comprising a surface is provided, wherein the surface comprises an oligomer. A method of functionalising the surface with the oligomer is also provided."
The patent was filed on March 4, 2024, under Application No. 18/594,221.
