ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 4 -- United States Patent no. 12,322,506, issued on June 3, was assigned to NEC Corp. (Tokyo).

"Discrimination device, discrimination method, and program recording medium" was invented by Chenhui Huang (Tokyo), Kazuki Ihara (Tokyo), Noriyuki Tonouchi (Tokyo) and Kenichiro Fukushi (Tokyo).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A discrimination device includes: a log acquisition unit that acquires sensor data including acceleration acquired by a sensor placed in a shoe, a storage unit that stores log data of the sensor data, a log calling unit that calls the log data stored in the storage unit, a discrimination unit that distinguishes a walking state from a waveform of the log data...
