ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 3 -- United States Patent no. 12,345,567, issued on July 1, was assigned to NEC Corp. (Tokyo).

"Road surface conditions detection by distributed optic fiber system" was invented by Yuheng Chen (South Brunswick, N.J.), Ming-Fang Huang (Princeton, N.J.), Ting Wang (West Windsor, N.J.) and Jingnan Zhao (Edison, N.J.).
