ALEXANDRIA, Va., Feb. 5 -- United States Patent no. PP36,419, issued on Feb. 4, was assigned to NDSU RESEARCH FOUNDATION (Fargo, N.D.).

"Grape plant named 'ND213'" was invented by Harlene M. Hatterman-Valenti (Fargo, N.D.) and John E. Stenger (Fargo, N.D.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The grape plant cultivar 'ND213' is a red wine grape for white wine production which exhibits superior cold hardiness and disease resistance."

The patent was filed on Jan. 19, 2024, under Application No. 18/417,824.
