ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 10 -- United States Patent no. 12,291,746, issued on May 6, was assigned to NCAN GENOMICS INC. (Vancouver, Canada).
"Methods of sequencing linked fragments" was invented by Milenko Despotovic (Richmond, Canada), Joel Pel (Vancouver, Canada) and Andrea Marziali (North Vancouver, Canada).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The invention generally relates to sequencing library preparation methods. In certain embodiments, two template nucleic acids are joined together by a linking molecule, such as a PEG derivative. The linked template nucleic acids is amplified, creating linked amplicons."
