ALEXANDRIA, Va., Dec. 16 -- United States Patent no. 12,498,548, issued on Dec. 16, was assigned to Navitar Inc. (Rochester, N.Y.).
"High etendue lens assembly with large zoom range" was invented by Chad Byler (Rochester, N.Y.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A finite conjugate lens assembly with modular interchangeable components includes a zooming component that includes three independently movable lens groups that are disposed within the lens assembly between a pair of static lens groups. The lens assembly exhibits an etendue of between 0.95 and 4.65 mm2sr."
The patent was filed on June 1, 2020, under Application No. 16/889,739.
