ALEXANDRIA, Va., Aug. 12 -- United States Patent no. 12,384,966, issued on Aug. 12, was assigned to National Technology & Engineering Solutions of Sandia LLC (Albuquerque, N.M.).
"Synthesis of ordered nanorod arrays" was invented by Hongyou Fan (Albuquerque, N.M.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A bi-phased approach between good solvents (or non-polar) and bad solvents (polar) can be used to assemble nanorods into highly ordered monolayers or multilayers of ordered nanorod arrays. These ordered nanorod arrays can display unique optical properties. For example, ordered arrays of CdSe/CdS core/shell nanorods were assembled that display polarized photoluminescence."
