ALEXANDRIA, Va., Jan. 29 -- United States Patent no. 12,208,115, issued on Jan. 28, was assigned to NATIONAL HEALTH RESEARCH INSTITUTES (Miaoli County, Taiwan) and NATIONAL TAIWAN UNIVERSITY (Taipei, Taiwan).
"PH-responsive hydrogel and manufacturing method thereof" was invented by Feng-Huei Lin (Zhunan Town, Taiwan), Rui-Chian Tang (Zhunan Town, Taiwan) and Tzu-Chien Chen (Taipei, Taiwan).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A pH-responsive hydrogel, which is synthesized by using mixed pectin and sucralfate treated with a small amount of acid to form a pH-responsive hydrogel.
