ALEXANDRIA, Va., Dec. 9 -- United States Patent no. 12,492,453, issued on Dec. 9, was assigned to NanoAL LLC (Ashland, Mass.).

"High-performance Al-Zn-Mg-Zr base aluminum alloys for welding and additive manufacturing" was invented by Joseph R. Croteau (Boston), Nhon Q. Vo (Winchester, Mass.) and Joshua P. Dorn (Waltham, Mass.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Aluminum-zinc-magnesium base alloys that comprise a transition metal and/or a rare earth metal are provided.
