ALEXANDRIA, Va., Feb. 5 -- United States Patent no. 12,215,311, issued on Feb. 4, was assigned to N-CELL Co. LTD. (Chungcheongbuk-Do, South Korea).

"Spirulina platensis strain" was invented by Zun Kim (Naju-si, South Korea).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present invention relates to a novel Spirulina strain having a linear shape, which Spirulina strain can be used to achieve a harvest of Spirulina strain with high yield."

The patent was filed on Aug. 28, 2020, under Application No. 17/292,284.
