ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 16 -- United States Patent no. 12,362,676, issued on July 15, was assigned to MYRTLE HOLDINGS LLC (Eden, Utah).

"Fixed frequency resonant inverter" was invented by L. Dexter Bates (Somerville, Mass.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A self-oscillating electronic LC resonant inverter for use in fixed-frequency power converters, providing zero-current and zero-voltage soft switching. The inverter incorporates an active fixed-frequency series resonant current pump capable of pumping the tank circuit current up as well as down. The magnitude of the resonant current is controlled at the resonant frequency of the LC tank circuit."
