ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 19 -- United States Patent no. 12,334,505, issued on June 17, was assigned to Murata Manufacturing Co. Ltd. (Kyoto, Japan).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A secondary battery includes a positive electrode, a negative electrode, and an electrolytic solution. A potential of the positive electrode, versus a lithium reference electrode, at a time of charging is higher than or equal to 4.50 V. The electrolytic solution includes a branched carboxylic acid ester compound."
