ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 9 -- United States Patent no. 12,289,094, issued on April 29, was assigned to MURATA MANUFACTURING Co. LTD. (Nagaokakyo, Japan).

"Transversely-excited film bulk acoustic resonator with symmetric diaphragm" was invented by Ventsislav Yantchev (Sofia, Bulgaria), Sho Nagatomo (Nagaokakyo, Japan) and Kazunori Inoue (Nagaokakyo, Japan).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Acoustic resonator devices and filters are disclosed. An acoustic resonator includes a substrate having a surface. A back surface of a single-crystal piezoelectric plate is attached to the surface of the substrate except for a portion of the piezoelectric plate forming a diaphragm spanning a cavity in the substrate...
