According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A medical implant includes a primary tubular member having a first end and a second end and defining a primary longitudinal axis and a primary lumen. The primary tubular member is disposed in an arterial-venous connection. The medical implant also includes a baffle disposed transversely to the primary longitudinal axis within the primary lumen. The baffle defines at least one aperture therethrough."
