ALEXANDRIA, Va., Dec. 31 -- United States Patent no. 12,508,999, issued on Dec. 30, was assigned to Motional AD LLC (Boston).
"Vehicle sensor lens hood" was invented by Peter Leeman (Pittsburgh), William Buono (Pittsburgh) and John Landreneau (Pittsburgh).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Vehicle sensor lens hoods for reduction of straylight on an image sensor lens, which can include a body, a first aperture, and a second aperture. The lens hood can further be associated with a structure, such as a fascia, of a vehicle. Vehicles and autonomous vehicles products are also provided."
