ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 10 -- United States Patent no. 12,409,347, issued on Sept. 9, was assigned to ModernaTX Inc. (Cambridge, Mass.).
"Betacoronavirus mRNA vaccines" was invented by Giuseppe Ciaramella (Sudbury, Mass.) and Sunny Himansu (Winchester, Mass.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The disclosure relates to ribonucleic acid (RNA) vaccines and combination vaccines, as well as methods of using the vaccines and compositions comprising the vaccines. Specific embodiments relate to mRNA betacoronavirus vaccines formulated in a lipid nanoparticle."
