ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 5 -- United States Patent no. 12,274,743, issued on April 15, was assigned to ModernaTX Inc. (Cambridge, Mass.).

"Nucleic acid vaccines" was invented by Giuseppe Ciaramella (Sudbury, Mass.), Axel Bouchon (Kleinmacknow, Germany) and Eric Yi-Chun Huang (Boston).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The invention relates to compositions and methods for the preparation, manufacture, and therapeutic use of ribonucleic acid vaccines comprising polynucleotide molecules encoding one or more antigens."

The patent was filed on Aug. 12, 2024, under Application No. 18/801,143.
