ALEXANDRIA, Va., Feb. 19 -- United States Patent no. 12,228,546, issued on Feb. 18, was assigned to MOBILion Systems Inc. (Chadds Ford, Pa.).

"Mobility based filtering of ions" was invented by John Daniel DeBord (West Grove, Pa.), Liulin Deng (Chester Springs, Pa.) and Nathan Paul Roehr (Wilmington, Del.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "In one implementation, a mobility-based ion separation system includes a first ion channel extending between a first end and a second end, and configured to receive an ion packet.
