"Scroll compressor" was invented by Hayato Kawakami (Tokyo), Kohei Tatsuwaki (Tokyo) and Kosuke Miyamae (Tokyo).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "In a scroll compressor, a suction port has an inlet portion in which a cross-sectional area of a flow passage therein decreases, and an outlet portion in which a cross-sectional area of the flow passage therein increases. A main frame has a first surface in which the upstream-side opening of the suction port is formed, and which is perpendicular to the rotation shaft, and a second surface opposite to the first surface....
