ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 12 -- United States Patent no. 12,297,420, issued on May 13, was assigned to MITSUBISHI GAS CHEMICAL COMPANY INC. (Tokyo).
"Agent for regulating concentration of gas for anaerobic bacterium culture and method for culturing anaerobic bacterium using same" was invented by Tatsuya Chinzei (Tokyo) and Masao Someya (Tokyo).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A gas concentration regulator for use in culture of anaerobic bacteria, including: (a) dehydroascorbic acid; (c) a transition metal catalyst; (d) activated carbon; (e) at least one selected from the group consisting of an alkali metal carbonate, an alkali metal hydroxide, and an alkaline earth metal hydroxide; and (f) water."
