ALEXANDRIA, Va., Nov. 11 -- United States Patent no. 12,466,049, issued on Nov. 11, was assigned to MILWAUKEE ELECTRIC TOOL Corp. (Brookfield, Wis.).

"Power tool with tether" was invented by Sarah K. Plunkett (New Berlin, Wis.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A power tool includes a housing with a first portion and a second portion, a battery removably coupled to the housing, and a bracket coupled to the housing. The first and second portions define a longitudinal plane therebetween. The first portion is coupled to the second portion along the longitudinal plane by a fastener. The fastener extends through the bracket."
