ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 16 -- United States Patent no. 12,304,143, issued on May 20, was assigned to Milwaukee Electric Tool Corp. (Brookfield, Wis.).
"Length adjustable level" was invented by Andrew Kenneth Dorscheid (Waunakee, Wis.), Michael John Caelwaerts (Milwaukee) and Samuel A. Gould (West Allis, Wis.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "An extendible or adjustable length level is provided. The level includes a locking mechanism allowing the user to fix the level at a selected or desired level. The locking system allows the user to lock the level at the desired length and provides more effective and robust locking than conventional expanding levels.
