ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 16 -- United States Patent no. 12,306,016, issued on May 20, was assigned to Milwaukee Electric Tool Corp. (Brookfield, Wis.).

"Continuous edge adjustable level" was invented by Haoming Tang (Dongguan, China), Samuel J. Howard (Hales Corners, Wis.), Anthony S. Graykowski (Belgium, Wis.) and Daniel L. Block (Milwaukee).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "An extendible or adjustable length level is provided. The level includes a frame, a slidable member, and a bushing. The slidable member is coupled to the frame and extends and retracts along the frame. The bushing is coupled to one of the frame or the slidable member and couples the frame and slidable member together."
