ALEXANDRIA, Va., April 9 -- United States Patent no. 12,270,551, issued on April 8, was assigned to MIDEA GROUP Co. LTD. (Guangdong, China).

"Configurable control selectors" was invented by Richard W. Cowan (Buford, Ga.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A system for controlling an appliance having a plurality of burners operated by a plurality of digital gas valves includes a plurality of control selectors that are configurably assigned to a specified burner or burners."

The patent was filed on Dec. 11, 2023, under Application No. 18/536,113.
