ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 30 -- United States Patent no. 12,427,289, issued on Sept. 30, was assigned to MicroVention Inc. (Aliso Viejo, Calif.).
"Balloon catheter with enhanced characteristics" was invented by Roland Guyon (Cowan Heights, Calif.), Joseph Gulachenski (Trabuco Canyon, Calif.), Binh Nguyen (Lake Forest, Calif.) and Russel Corvese (Aliso Viejo, Calif.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A balloon catheter is described with features to reduce balloon stickiness thereby ensuring a more even inflation profile. In some embodiments, a balloon guide catheter is described which includes a conduit or passage for additional catheters or devices."
