ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 23 -- United States Patent no. 12,420,062, issued on Sept. 23, was assigned to MicroVention Inc. (Aliso Viejo, Calif.).
"Electrical catheter" was invented by Parker Milhous (Santa Ana, Calif.), Heath Bowman (Trabuco Canyon, Calif.) and Kaushik Joshi (Tustin, Calif.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A powered catheter and/or powered catheter system is described. The catheter includes a catheter hub with one set of contact components that are configured to connect to a mating cable with a corresponding second set of contact components. The mating cable can be part of another device, such as a controller or power source."
