ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 30 -- United States Patent no. 12,432,871, issued on Sept. 30, was assigned to Microsoft Technology Licensing LLC (Redmond, Wash.).

"Devices, systems, and methods for locking a server in a rack" was invented by Rick Chun Kit Cheung (Lynwood, Wash.) and Luke Thomas Gregory (Mercer Island, Wash.).

The locking mechanism is configured to lock onto the busbar of a rack. When the locking mechanism is locked to the busbar, the locking mechanism may prevent removal of the server from the rack.
