ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 16 -- United States Patent no. 12,308,857, issued on May 20, was assigned to Microsoft Technology Licensing LLC (Redmond, Wash.).

"Devices, systems, and methods for encoding and decoding codewords" was invented by Brett K. Dodds (Boise, Idaho) and Terry M. Grunzke (Boise, Idaho).
