ALEXANDRIA, Va., March 12 -- United States Patent no. 12,248,454, issued on March 11, was assigned to Microsoft Technology Licensing LLC (Redmond, Wash.).

"Scalable index tuning with index filtering and index cost models" was invented by Tarique Ashraf Siddiqui (Redmond, Wash.), Vivek Ravindranath Narasayya (Redmond, Wash.), Surajit Chaudhuri (Kirkland, Wash.) and Wentao Wu (Kirkland, Wash.).
