ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 9 -- United States Patent no. 12,355,214, issued on July 8, was assigned to Microsoft Technology Licensing LLC (Redmond, Wash.).

"Laser emitter including nanowires" was invented by Sergei V. Gronin (West Lafayette, Ind.), Geoffrey Charles Gardner (West Lafayette, Ind.) and Raymond Leonard Kallaher (West Lafayette, Ind.).
