ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 3 -- United States Patent no. 12,348,559, issued on July 1, was assigned to Microsoft Technology Licensing LLC (Redmond, Wash.).
"Account classification using a trained model and sign-in data" was invented by Ye Xu (Kirkland, Wash.), Etan Micah Basseri (Seattle), Biying Tan (Bellevue, Wash.), Caroline Katherine Templeton (Seattle) and Prithviraj Sanjeev Kanherkar (Seattle).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A trained machine learning model distinguishes between human-driven accounts and machine-driven accounts by performing anomaly detection based on sign-in data and optionally also based on directory data.
