ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 17 -- United States Patent no. 12,417,028, issued on Sept. 16, was assigned to Micron Technology Inc. (Boise, Idaho).
"Dynamic erase operation selection using erase policy" was invented by Yu-Chung Lien (San Jose, Calif.) and Zhenming Zhou (San Jose, Calif.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Methods, systems, and apparatuses include determining an erase policy for a memory device. An erase operation is selected based on the determined erase policy, where the erase operations include an alternating erase operation and a uniform erase operation. The erase operation is executed on a portion of memory."
