ALEXANDRIA, Va., Nov. 6 -- United States Patent no. 12,458,899, issued on Nov. 4, was assigned to MGA Entertainment Inc (Chatsworth, Calif.).

"Plush toy with layer of manually removable plush" was invented by Alfred Leung (Tin Shui Wai, Hong Kong).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A plush toy having a body at least partially formed from dual plush fabric. The fabric has a backing, a second plush layer having a second pile height and fixedly coupled to the backing by a laminate layer and a first plush layer removably coupled through the backing. The first plush layer has a first pile height greater that the second pile height. The body defines and internal cavity that retains a fill material."
