ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 17 -- United States Patent no. 12,415,652, issued on Sept. 16, was assigned to Mettler Packaging LLC (Raynham, Mass.).
"Reusable plastic carrier bag" was invented by Georg Donner (Morbach, Germany) and Wolfgang Trossen (Morbach, Germany).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present disclosure provides a plastic carrier bag wherein the front and rear panel is designed to be multi-layered comprising an inner layer and an outer layer, and a reinforcing area containing at least one single or multi-layered plastic film strip is secured on the inside or outside to the front and rear panel, respectively."
The patent was filed on Nov. 7, 2023, under Application No. 18/504,008.
