ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 17 -- United States Patent no. 12,417,363, issued on Sept. 16, was assigned to Metropolis IP Holdings LLC (Santa Monica, Calif.).

"Terminals and methods of use and manufacture thereof" was invented by Gregory Scott Pearson (Nashville, Tenn.) and Gregory Richard Mason (Iowa City, Iowa).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Devices and methods are provided for use in controlling access to a parking garage or other restricted area.
