US Patent Issued to Metagenomi on April 29 for "Base editing enzymes" (California Inventors)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 9 -- United States Patent no. 12,286,654, issued on April 29, was assigned to Metagenomi Inc. (Emeryville, Calif.).

"Base editing enzymes" was invented by Jyun-Liang Lin (Emeryville, Calif.), Alan Brooks (Emeryville, Calif.), Cristina Butterfield (Emeryville, Calif.), Christopher Brown (Emeryville, Calif.), Cindy Castelle (Emeryville, Calif.) and Brian C. Thomas (Emeryville, Calif.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present disclosure provides for endonuclease enzymes having distinguishing domain features, as well as methods of using such enzymes or variants thereof."
