US Patent Issued to Meta Platforms Technologies on Sept. 30 for "Waveguide with tunable bulk reflectors" (Washington, California Inventors)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 30 -- United States Patent no. 12,429,651, issued on Sept. 30, was assigned to Meta Platforms Technologies LLC (Menlo Park, Calif.).

"Waveguide with tunable bulk reflectors" was invented by Renate Eva Klementine Landig (Kirkland, Wash.), Sihui He (Sunnyvale, Calif.) and Miaomiao Xu (Redmond, Wash.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A waveguide for conveying image light in a display device is disclosed. The waveguide comprises a waveguide body, an input coupler configured to couple the image light into the waveguide body for propagating the image light within the waveguide body along a zigzag light path, and a plurality of slanted bulk mirrors disposed along the zigzag light...
