US Patent Issued to Meta Platforms Technologies on April 22 for "Augmented hearing via adaptive self-reinforcement" (Washington, Oregon Inventors)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 6 -- United States Patent no. 12,284,499, issued on April 22, was assigned to Meta Platforms Technologies LLC (Menlo Park, Calif.).

"Augmented hearing via adaptive self-reinforcement" was invented by Andrew Lovitt (Redmond, Wash.) and Nicholas William Metzar (Beaverton, Ore.).

The audio system analyzes the sounds to identify an amount of background noise in the environment. The audio system may also identify target sound in the environment, such as voice from a nearby speaker, to reinforce.
