"Isolation of adult multipotential cells by tissue non-specific alkaline phosphatase" was invented by Stan Gronthos (Adelaide, Australia), Andrew Christopher William Zannettino (Highbury, Australia) and John Paul Simmons (Kew, Australia).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present invention relates to the use of tissue non-specific alkaline phosphatase (TNAP) as a marker for identifying and/or isolating adult multipotential cells.
