ALEXANDRIA, Va., March 26 -- United States Patent no. 12,257,270, issued on March 25, was assigned to MESOBLAST INTERNATIONAL SARL (Meyrin, Switzerland).
"Treatment of immune disorders" was invented by Silviu Itescu (Melbourne, Australia) and Paul Simmons (Melbourne, Australia).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present disclosure relates to stem cells which express high levels of Angeopoetin-1 (Ang1) and uses thereof in inhibiting M1-type macrophage production and treating inflammatory disease such as diabetes."
