ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 3 -- United States Patent no. 12,344,616, issued on July 1, was assigned to Merck Sharp & Dohme LLC (Rahway, N.J.).
"Factor XIa inhibitors" was invented by Amjad Ali (Freehold, N.J.), John S. Debenham (Scotch Plains, N.J.) and Cheng Zhu (Edison, N.J.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present invention provides a compound of Formula (I) and pharmaceutical compositions comprising one or more said compounds, and methods for using said compounds for treating or preventing thromboses, embolisms, hypercoagulability or fibrotic changes. The compounds are selective Factor XIa inhibitors or dual inhibitors of Factor XIa and plasma kallikrein."
