US Patent Issued to Merck Sharp & Dohme on April 22 for "Pneumococcal conjugate vaccine formulations" (Pennsylvania, New Jersey Inventors)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 6 -- United States Patent no. 12,280,107, issued on April 22, was assigned to Merck Sharp & Dohme LLC (Rahway, N.J.).

"Pneumococcal conjugate vaccine formulations" was invented by William J. Smith (Harleysville, Pa.), Cecilia Giovarelli (Allentown, Pa.) and Denise K. Nawrocki (Annandale, N.J.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present invention provides pneumococcal conjugate vaccine formulations comprising surfactant systems incorporating polysorbate 20 or a combination of a poloxamer and a polyol."

The patent was filed on Feb. 15, 2023, under Application No. 18/169,632.
